KALI & MARA TONGUES
BENTO MESH TONGUES
The Sinful Needs Bento Tongues are designed to be used with Bento mesh heads that have an option to hide their included tongue. In some cases, you might be able to remove/not wear the whole mouth attachment (including the teeth) and find other mesh teeth to wear with this tongue. At the time of this writing, these tongues have only been tested with Catwa Bento heads, which DO have the option to hide the tongue only. Additionally, this tongues package does NOT include any animation HUD for the Bento tongue. Your mesh head should have animations available. Again, the Catwa Bento heads are an excellent choice, and there are numerous mouth animations available for their head and HUD that you can play to animate your Sinful Needs Bento Mesh Tongue. Be aware that your head shape can and will effect clipping between the tongue and your lips, and possibly the tongue and your teeth! Try the demo!
ABOUT CLASSIC AVATARS: These tongues WILL NOT WORK well with classic avatars. The classic avatar expression emotes will NOT trigger the Bento bones, not even the stick out your tongue expression. Additionally, the system avatar mouth does not deform well when open wide, so even if you were to find a Bento animation HUD to stick your tongue out while playing that old mouth open expression, the tongue WILL clip terribly with the mouth and lips. I do NOT recommend you use these tongues with classic avatars. Try the demo!
PLEASE ALWAYS TRY A DEMO FIRST! Please pick up the 100% functional Demo, and try these tongues with your favorite avatar. You can decide for yourself if they will work well with your head and shape.
• v1.21 Update:
Kali and Mara tongues now include Variations that are rigged a bit higher than the originals to facilitate better fitting to other CATWA heads (and possibly other brands). Try the ^ and ^^ variations if you find your tongue clips the lower lip. Catwa Lona works best with the ^ tongues. Kimberly, Koure, and Lilo work best with ^^ tongues.
• v1.20 Update:
Kali and Mara tongues now include THREE sizes of tongues. Due to popular request, an XL version is now also in every package. This XL version is thicker, wider, and fuller in the mouth. The tip of the tongue is still located in a bout the same place, since moving that any more would cause it clip the teeth pretty drastically when relaxed. Kali and Mara tongues now support a tattoo layer! This tattoo layer will be work with the Kali and Mara Tattoo HUDs that are available separately in the store as Gacha Items. Kali and Mara tongues now also have applier support for the tongue Skin and Tattoo layers. Updated packages include an Dev Kit that will allow you to make your own skin and tattoo textures and apply them directly to your tongue, or to make them available for others!

** v1.20 Update note: Kali and Mara Tattoo HUDs work just like the Customization HUDs that come with the tongues. Pick your textures, change your RGB tint, and all other properties just like you to the piercings and stuff below. The only new control for the Tattoo layers is that you can change their Alpha Blend setting. Just click on the ALPHA property name on the HUD, and you’ll be prompted to choose Blend, Mask, or Emissive. Most mesh users are now familiar with Blend and Mask. Blend gives you the soft edges, and Mask lets you set a hard edge threshold so your mesh hair fluttering in front of it doesn’t make it disappear. When you choose Mask in the menu, you’ll be prompted to enter a number in a pop up. The higher the number you choose, the more ‘faded’ tattoo texture gets clipped off. NOTE: You can only set Alpha Masking if the tattoo layer Alpha setting is 100%! The Emissive option is not really for an alpha setting so much as for special effects. You can create special textures that cover the whole tongue and only glow in certain areas this way. **
The customization HUD lets you choose any one of 57 baked textures for different sections of the piercing. It also allows RGB tinting, full bright, old school Shine, Alpha (transparency), Glow, and full Materials control of Glossiness, Environment, and (reflective) Color for the piercings and the tongue itself. The HUD also allows you to toggle off some or all of the piercings.
To use the HUD, just wear your Tongue and Customization HUD. On the HUD you will see a representation of your tongue. If you have a Full Set tongue, you’ll see a portion of the piercings, and Silver Arrows on either side of the tongue. Click those arrows to change to a different group of piercings and customize those.
To change the texture on a piercing, just pick on in the lower right of the HUD. You’ll see the silvery box frame highlighting the active texture. By default, this is the Chrome texture, which is on row 1, column 4. When you click another, you should see it move to highlight that one. Then just click on the piercing, and you’ll see it change on the HUD. It should also change on your tongue in your mouth.
To change the RGB tint on a piercing is similar. Just click on the RGB color picker to set a color. Use the Luminosity bar right next to it to make it brighter (More white) or darker (more black). You can use the numbers below it in the red, green, and blue bars to fine tune that by clicking on the Plus or Minus at the end of the bar. Optionally, you can also click the SET RGB button, and enter an RGB value into the dialog box that pops up (like ‘255,128,128’ then submit). The White and Black buttons below that SET RGB button will clear the tint, or set it to Black respectively. The indicator under the fine tuning controls shows the active RGB Tint. You’ll see a row of downward pointing silver arrows and blocks right under the RGB color picker. These are memory slots. You can save up to 10 custom RGB tint values in those slots. Just set your active RGB tint, then click a silver arrow. It will over write the block under it to your chosen color. To recall that color, just click on the memory block itself instead of the arrow.
At the top of the HUD, you’ll find the Properties window. On the left side, from the top, click on BRIGHT to toggle Full Bright on or off. Click on SHINE to cycle through LOW, MED, HI shine, or back to OFF (note that turning on Shine turns off Materials). Use the little white arrows to change the ALPHA setting. 100 is solid, as default, while 0 is completely Transparent. Use the similar arrows to set your GLOW from 0% to 100%. On the right, from the top, click on MATERIALS to toggle them on or off. (Note that turning on Materials, turns off Shine.) Use the little white arrows to set the GLOSSINESS setting from 0 to 255. Below that, you can set the ENVIRONMENT from 0 to 255 as well. Finally you can set the Materials Color (which changes the light reflected from the materials) by setting an active RGB tint in the bottom of the HUD, and then clicking on the COLOR box. You can then return the Active RGB tint to white, or some other color. All of these properties are also set when you click on a Piercing or on the Tongue, along with the Active RGB Tint and the currently active Texture.
To toggle a piercing off, just click on a piercing and hold for a second. The piercing will turn shadowy black on your HUD, then you can left go. It should also hide on the tongue in your mouth. To toggle that piercing back on, just click on the shadowy black piercing and hold for a second again, and it will come back on, WITH THE CURRENTLY ACTIVE Properties, RGB, and Texture! That’s important to remember.
Other HUD Stuff:
You’ll also see a RESIZE HUD option for the HUD. Just click on the Plus or Minus sign to change the size of the HUD. If you want to return the HUD to default size easily, just click and hold on the word RESIZE for a second, and it will revert to 100%.
On the other side of the HUD, you will see a NEED HELP ? button. Clicking that will give you the option to receive this notecard, or visit a webpage with similar documentation on it.
Finally, if you run into weirdness with your HUD and want to reset it, just click and hold the SINFUL NEEDS logo in the upper right of the black bar atop the HUD. That will prompt you to reset the 2 scripts in your HUD.
